Continental Headlights

Hello all,
I'm looking to buy in the near future, but being in the forces and based in Germany I need to have the headlights chenged over to LHD spec in order to meet the vehicle inspection regs over here. Have read on a previous thread that someone believed their to be a switch on the back of the lights to allow for the very, very few that have been sold over here (have only ever seen one German registered and have been here since they were released). Is my only option to go for a GTO set and will these bolt straight in?

Sorry for all the questions but am desperate to start burning some of that oil I've been protecting for all these years.

Probably a late CV8 or a 6.0 if the price is right.

I asked about changing over VXR8 lights. It seems a no go, have had switchable lights on previous cars but they were all xenons. (No such luxury here)

Hows 21 treating you Mick!!

Even the switchable xenons are a no go now as the flat beam is not going to be accepted from next year. Will try to source a set of Pontiac GTO lights or speak to an Opel dealer here to see if they know of any imported cars.

Am at 35 by the way, do I know?

I've just returned from Germany and have a set of LHD headlights for sale if you want them. They were in the classifieds here but dropped off through lack of interest. They cost £550 when I bought them so I could save you some money and time if you want them. I bought my car tax free while I was out there and needed to change the headlights to pass the BFG process. If you have any other questions about Monaro ownership in Germany then please let me know.

I will no doubt still have the lights. I live near Salisbury if that helps with your plans. Another guy moving to Germany from Cyprus is also coming back in December so hopefully one of you will buy them.

Just out of interest where did you buy the LHD lights from? Did you order from a UK Vx dealer?

They came with the car. The supplying dealer had to order them from the far east where they are made for the US Market. He told me that they had ordered 2 sets at £550.00 a set. If you want to talk offline mail me through my profile or call me on 94322 5654.
