Replacement Brake Pads

I’ve read a few disparaging comments on this website about the standard discs/pads on the Monaro, and Evo magazine has described pedal feel as, “mushy”.

I’ve not had the opportunity to push the motor hard enough to make constructive comment myself. All I've discovered so far is that the brakes are very "grabby" first thing in the morning.

But I’d still like to read your recommendations for a worthwhile brake upgrade (pads only at this stage).
Model is a 06 reg. (2005MY) Monaro with the red callipers, and with low miles.

How do you know that, mines a CV8 and it has red "Monaro" callipers?

Yeah, get it out and use it.

I've owned my '06 CV8 2 months, and already doubled the mileage (4k to 8k).

My local petrol station just voted me customer of the year...

I had the uprated pads fitted on my 04 CV8 in Apr this year & they're absolutely fine. Done by Roger & crew at Monkfish, they're more than a decent start rather than going for AP's straight away, partic if you don't/can't do track days!

the only downside I find with the upgraded pads is lack of initial bite at low speeds but thats a trade off i guess. The pads and fluid from monkfish are def worth it and I'd suspect even on standard cv8 stoppers
