I'm a bit confused by the avg fuel consumption on my trip computer, it seems to take miles of steady driving to get up to the 18mpg mark but if I boot it even once it plumets to around 15mpg and stays there for just as long.

Over the past 30 or so miles it has averaged 16.7 mpg at 32 mph. I'm not expecting it to be frugal but this seems a lot lower than others are claiming, is it down to the slow average speed? I'd be interested to see what others are averaging in terms of speed and mpg just so I know there's nothing wrong with mine. It's an 06 CV8 with a wortec cat-back exhaust.

Cheers.

P.S. Magnacharger being fitted tomorrow/early next week YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

Do you reset the average gauge when you fill up ?
I mostly get around 22mpg to and from work which is 50/50 fastroad/motorway with 4 people @ shall we say around the speed limits, all time high 30mpg on long motorway run
But im confused with the average speed gauge which very rarely seems to get out of the thirty's even on a long motorway run.

Yes I reset it but the result is the same. I'm sure it was better before the Wortec tune, averaging just over 19mpg. I'll see what's it's like after the SC.

What are you getting to a full tank? Perhaps the best way to see if your display is playing up?

I get about 350 between fill-ups with wortec cat back and re-map as an example on motorway journeys.

This is the real test

With a 6.0 ltr VXR and Wortec cat back and re-map, I have averaged around 22mpg over the last 2500 miles (thats reading the cars computer, not working it out myself). However, when I do give it some serious welly, sometimes the average figure actually goes up. How does that work ?
