I normally don't go for the whole "it's a sad day" saga, but my much beloved HSV has today burbled off in the hands of its new owner - so it bloody well is a sad day.....

With a one-year old boy and another baby on the way, I need a large recent estate to ferry them and their multicoloured gear around, and so felt selling the HSV was the most sensible option. I put it up for sale last Sunday, expecting it to take a while for anyone to show any interest, and now it's gone, a week later. Bugger!

Good news is it's gone to a very likeable Australian who is over the moon with it, so it's gone to a very good home. I'd just like to say thanks for all the help that's been offered on this forum from time to time, both by the owner/users and companies that advertise and post here, it's been invaluable and made me feel part of a proper community.

The HSV has been by far the most fun car I've ever owned, and I will be back in a couple of years for a VXR8. In the meantime I'll still be following this forum with great interest, as I know other ex-owners do as well.

So, er, with no further ado, bye for now! byebye

Sorry to hear of your loss (cripes - that sounds like a funeral is looming) and I trust you will find something suitable to move the family about in ie RS4 Avant etc.

Tell us what you get and stay in touch wavey

i was talking to the girls at work the other day about people carriers. Basically my point I was trying to make to them was you know your life is over when you buy a people carrier wink

After all the grief I'm having with mine (still in for discs!) I may just be joining you, though when it comes back I'll probably feel different. Know what you mean about being part of something though. Hope the little people grow up to appreciate the sacrifice you've made. May all your journey's be safe ones!byebye

If you ever feel a little nostalgic and want a reminder of what you’ve given up by tagging along to an meet/event then PM me. I'm sure I'll find room.

You could buy the missus a family car for all the plastic crap? Prior to the Monaro I spent 5 years driving a diesel Passat estate for all the kiddy clobber. Soon as we no longer needed to carry it (when they turn 3) I sold it. Don't buy an MPV, that really is resigning yourself to the scrap heap, get a cheap estate instead.
