I've noticed one of my speaker covers on the rear parcel shelf is scratched and paint peeling off and in need of being resprayed. Looking at the FAQs for speaker replacement, it looks like the cover just pops off no problem, that correct enough? Don't want to start pulling at it, suddenly to hear a nasty noise!

Cheers

Hello,

Not quite so simple, but pretty straight forward assuming Holden did not seal the shelf to the window seal like they did on mine !!

First of all you have to remove the rear seat, best bet is to refer to ls1gto forum, but only a 10 minute job (tabs to remove the bottom section and then unbolt the back section). Then take out two screw/bolt (dual head) from the bottom of the shelf and then move the emergency fuel release out of the way. Then remove the shelf cover.

If you are planning to remove the speakers then you will have to use the plastic tabs on the underside of the shelf, first remove the cover which hides the fuel tank etc. Then unclick the speaker connectors etc.

Hope this helps. My paint is also a little chipped but not too bad (another Holden feature I think).

Cheers
Steven

For a short term fix, I used black scuff cover, the polish used on kids shoes. It's not perfect, but it looks a lot better than it was.

I thought about something like that, sounds a good idea in the interim period
