Thats what I've been told too.
Just to confirm - is the 1400 quid just for the disc? The sat-nav receiver is already installed and fitted as standard?
If so that is *alot* of money for mapping information. Considering the most advanced Tom Tom which has way more features than the in car sat-nav for 1/3 the price.

Car was ordered with satnav and duly delivered in July without satnav. Dealer eventually installed equipment early September but minus disc. All paid for in July. Still waiting!.....Reckon a fair chunk of the 1500 quid is labour for fitting.

tried any of the torrent sites - sounds like the sort of thing you might be able to find on there and download for yourself, bit like the service manuals. Or maybe a friendly dealer could do a backup of one that you could use until the original finally arrives.

stick with a good top of the range tomtom I'd say.

My VXR8 is happy without it. Much prefer to put the money towards some good upgrades.....POWER!

The sat nav unit is £1400 inc disk, £100 fitting. The unit wasnt meant to have been on sale til sept/oct any dealer that fitted one before that, fitted their own demo unit prior to public sale. The reason it was not available at launch was the sat nav discs being delayed. Dealer shouldnt have really installed it til he had it.

As a company we have two VXR8s. Early Sept dealer fitted satnavs to both, one up and running immediately other still waiting for disk. On hindsight I agree it is an expensive option but at the time I probably mistakenly, thought it would help residuals.

Not having tested it at any great length as it is installed in the other car, it sems to work fine.I will post a proper opinion when the disk turns up.The answer to your question, due to high cost is no. As previously pointed out much less expensive options are available

Just found out Dealer did fit demo kit to one car thats why its working. Disks are not available to order until mid November. Theres not even a part number allocated yet.Not blaming Dealer but VX was paid for this in July and probably wont come across with the goods until December. Seems strange that if demo disks are in existance, why were the full amount not produced at the same time?
