Had my CV for a few months now but funnily never been out at night till yesterday- now wished that I hadn't.Couldn't see a f###### thing. It's as if the lights were not even on.Is this a common fault or do I have a problem with the bulbs. No other probs as yet with the car- still grinning from ear to ear.

The lights tend to be adjusted down on Monaro's. The cheepest mod to your car can be done with a screwdriver to adjust the lights up. Some guy's change bulbes etc not worth it IMHO.

The adjustor is in the middle of the picture

Have to disagree with that. Raising the beam setting is a must, but changing the bulbs was the best £15 I've spent. I bought mine from www.consumabulbs.com and had excellent service. They supply 50% brighter H9 bulbs for the dip beam with clear end caps, instead of the standard black ones. Minor mod has to be done to the electrical connector which takes seconds with a sharp stanley knife. You need to release the battery clamp to get at the driver's side bulb, and it is a little awkward to get the bulbs back in place correctly, but no big deal really.
In respect of which way to turn the adjusters, I think that it shown on the bonnet shut plate, but answer is to adjust them by watching the beam rise or fall when shining on the garage wall.
I think that there have been a number of comprehensive threads on this, but if you decide to chance them but need more info, let me know.

They raise when you turn clockwise.

I've converted mine to proper Xenons for dip and they make standard bulbs look lame.

I agree with JJ, changing the bulbs combined with a slight raise in the height has made the world of difference with the night-time driving for me too, consumabulbs were my port of call too wink

You can buy kits that contain Xenon (HID) bulb and the box of tricks to work them (a ballast).

Fairly simple to swap the bulb over and wire the kit in. Takes power from the existing light circuit.

Here's a link specifc for the Monaro:- www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/gtointro.html

There's loads of kits available though, not strictly legal in the UK, but you can buy kits over here if you don't want to ship from the US.

Tempted myself as my last car had Xenons, but may try the bulb swap first.

I got my kit for the Monaro from these chaps http://www.hids4u.co.uk/ . There are plenty of cheaper kits on eBay of course.
