It would seem so. Resale on old 1997 technology LS2 engined cars?

"According to my source, LS3 is on the way early in the new year, as is a software upgrade for the 6 speed auto to enhance the manual mode. Not that any one has actually bothered to notice (elitism etc) but my source was spot on for other VE info 18 months or more ago, well before VE release..."

"The new engine must be introduced prior to June 2008 in order to avoid compliance issues with new emissions codes that will come into effect in July 08.
I think this will allow the LS3 to continue through until 2011."

So, same story as the Monaro VXR - 5.7 > 6.0 and now VXR8 6.0 > 6.2.

I wonder weather that LS3 will hit the Camaro or they'll introduce the new LS* quad-cam engine? (I think the former)

So does that mean LS2 blocks etc might get thin on the ground ? Surely not ?

The aftermarket needs all that crap lol.

Uk based firms selling LS1 crate for around 3.5k and ls2 for around 4.5-5k exc VAT, saw them the other day while pricing LS7 for comparison.

There seemed plenty of LS2 production parts for sale in the GM performance parts area.

For that price, Id like a complete engine and box smile

I think/hope there will be LS1/6 and LS2 bits available to the aftermarket for a good 2-3 years to come, at least.

Although I'll probably have an LS2 or LSx based unit in mine before the end of next year.
Although just dont fancy the weight of the LSx, but it is so nice, and would be stronger.

I dont see too many of them being used....so that in itself must mean something.

I dont see anyone using their blocks, or heads. Being Aluminium in design, it will also be inherently weaker than iron.

I'll see how things go next year with regards reliability. If I dont have any HG issues, or bore/ring problems, then perhaps aluminium is strong enough.

Although I suspect things should perform a tad better than they have been this time around wink
So that is a good thing....but may be harder on HG's, which to date, havent given me any bother at all without provocation..
