Has anyone on here had any problem getting paint repaired under warranty,I have flaking paint on both door handles, when the car went in for a seat spring re-call I told the dealer in Edinburgh about it and they promptly took photos and said that they would seek advise from Vauxhall regarding the matter. They never got back to me.After several phone calls and E-mails I'm getting a bit pcensoredoff with them.No one returns the calls or messages, are they just passing the buck on and hoping that I go away or has anyone else come across this problem. The car was still within it's 12 month paint warranty when it was noted but now has gone over.Any thoughts on the matter from you guys?

Well it is a known problem, I also have paint flaking off the door handels after only 7 months, I was going to wait until it's first service to ask them to take care of it.

Like you also i have a recall on the seat spring that I was also going to get replaced at the first service, but maybe I might be in for remedial work before hand as the clutch thrust bearing is screeming on start up, but goes off when hot.

Have been told that it is better to have your own handles stripped and repainted as the factory replacements are apt to do the same!

I feel your pain. My locl dealers had mine in for a service and the spring recall. They could see the flaking hndles but cannot admit to it. Instead the monaro expert has to come from luton to see the car in the flesh.

So I now have to take time out to drive down and wait potentially all day as they have no spare cars to lend me. The main pisser is the speedo dial issues - they wont accept my photo evidence as proof of a problem. They need to experience it in the fleash, it only does it every few months then settles down

that particular dealer in Edinburgh has a reputation for being, how shall I put it - crap!! You'd have more luck taking photos and asking one of the dealers on here to try deal with it for you. Pain in the ass having to go south but gives you opportunity to have a few tweaks done while you're at it

Hi Wells,
I used to work at Vauxhall dealer in Essex, so all you need to so is call Vauxhall direct and tell them about the problems your having with your local dealer.
Vauxhall will then contact them direct and then i think your dealer will call you straight back and do all the work as fast as they can.

They did mine eventually Nick. They are the WORSE dealers ever for Monaro issues, how they got named as "specialists" beats me. Give them hell!!!

Took mine to North Wales last week , and they were superb.

I got the door handle and surround done under warranty (its 3 next week!!) , and they even ordered the handle in advance.

I had the seat springs done as well as a few other issues before the Vauxhall warranty runs out, and even got a Vectra estate instead of the usual Corsa.

Best of all, I got new discs and shoes under the Network Q!!

North Wales/ Colwyn Bay is a very nice place to visit, and not quite as far as going down south!!

they replaced them? My local one is talking about taking off and respraying which I am not at all happy with.

If they have painted stock it could be a quick drive in, swap and away I go job

Had my re-call through the post from Vauxhall, apparently the earth on the seat might fail leading to the side air bag not going off in an accident so I have been led to believe, only happens on a certain batch of cars though.

re the door handles; yes they repaced them. there have been several other threads where this has been done, and where the better dealers actually order in, and paint the handles BEFORE the car has to go in, so that it is a simple quick fit.

the seat springs are as discussed earlier, but there was something odd about mine. According to the last owner, a dealer in Derby was supposed to have done them, but I kept getting re-call letters, and this time I was told that they have now been done "properly".
not sure just what that means, but a bit concerning?

the recall helpline number is

0118 945 8500

if you want to check, just tell them your reg. no etc.

They - Auto**sion - are great but cannot do warranty work although they did try. Excellent for servicing though, doing mine next month.
