Headlamp Upgrade
Discussion
Now that the nights have drawn in and decent lighting is becoming more of an imperative, I decided to upgrade the dipped beams on my VXR.
So, at the weekend, I fitted 65w H9 bulbs to the dipped beams, and raised the headlight level by 1.5 turns.
All I can say is.....wow!
Wow. What a total waste of £20, half an hour, and a few square cm of knuckle skin.
It's made no appeciable difference whatsoever to the lights, which are still as utterly unsuited to a large fast car as they were the day they came out of the factory.
I'm afraid that I shall be following suit with previous cars I've owned and fitting HIDs. I realise that some people don't like them, but I'd rather upset a few people whom I can actually see, rather than please everyone as I plough into some invisible person or object in the semi-candlelight.
Moral of the story? Unless you exclusively drive on well-lit city roads, you need HIDs.
