Hi there,

Well, I visited Monkfish yesterday for some new mods. Also to see Harrys Yellow monster and engine - that looks very impressive.

My mods were pretty run of the mill Headers and tune, Pedders Strut bar, rear coilover adjustment etc. But the big experiment was the Noltec Poly Engine Mounts, well after driving about 200 miles on them I can say, you notice the whole car becomes very solid and you get a feel for everything you do with the engine. You do, however, get a little more idle vibration particularly when cold - but not unpleasant. But gives you superb gear change, it was night and day this morning driving with a cold gearbox (my car is just over 13K and gearbox can be a pain when cold on 1st to 2nd shifts). The gear knob stops waggling all over the show also.

Paul (Wortec) was not sure about the mod and neither was Roger, but I like it but it does loose a little refinement - but brings out the beast a little.

Thanks to Monkfish and Paul @ Wortec for another happy customer.

Cheers
Steven

Hi Steve,

Engine is still stock (except tune), just all bolt ons as the Americans say.

Mind you I really wish I had not driven the Monkfish supercharged car, that thing is FUN (I found myself laughing my head off at the wheel - oops). I have more things on my shopping list for next year !!

Cheers
Steven

Do they do gearbox mounts as well ?

I have often thought that the whole drivetrain feels a little Mushy (is that a word ?)

Hi there,

At present no one does gearbox mounts, they are supposed to be in developement with Pedders. But the combo of the poly engine mounts and gearbox mounts would be OTT - terrible shaking etc.

A few of the US people have done the DIY poly filling of the gearbox mounts and it is supposed to work.

I think the engine mounts are enough for me.

Cheers

I was there yesterday for a quick 4-wheel realignment. You seem to be taking up a fair amount of floor space there Harry wink
