I know this has been covered before (and I've commented before) but just thought I'd post my experiences.

To summarise: Reported the issue to Greens, the scuffed paintwork has been resprayed under warranty, and the chap in the bodyshop advised that the reason for the scuffing in the first place was that there was a bolt missing from the central spoiler strut, presumably since it was built, which was why the centre of the spoiler was flexing. So, anyone who's being told that it's wind pressure, or "shutting the boot incorrectly", is probably being led up the garden path.

My spoiler is now rock solid and shows no signs of moving anywhere anytime soon. And the paint's all nice and black again smile

For Greens , really, I suppose.
Where exactly is the bolt missing from, and how easy is it/what size is it so that I can check mine before the paintwork gets too badly marked.
Thank you.

Had my spoiler off to make my own repair before the paint got too bad and I don`t think there is the necessary threaded hole for either a stud or a bolt to be employed refitting the spoiler.

You sure its not just been masticked on like I have mine?

Which is all it needs to stop the chaffing by the way.

I can only say what they told me at the bodyshop at Rainham. That and the fact that my spoiler is now absolutely solid - I reckon I could sit on it now and it wouldn't move.

He didn't say which bolt, only that there was one missing.

If we are talking 6.0 VXR then there are 5 captive 'bolts', one of which is offset a tad but basically where the central bar a.k.a paint scraper part of the spoiler (ah, the irony) is.

well iv modded mine so that it wont scrape the paint now but when i removed my spoiler all the threaded bolts were in place so bolt or no bolt in the middle the paint can still get marked underneith

Good news - lets see if Bellingers can step up to the mark as well

Last time I spoke to them it was a very firm no!

Here's what my removed spoiler looked like. You can clearly see it used to be red, and someone tried to fix it before. The sticky foam tape has moved.

This wasn't helped by the 5th nut (the one for the captive bolt shown) not being a locking nut; it had worked loose.
