New VXR Exhaust. OMG!!!
Discussion
Just got the exhaust well and truly sorted on my VXR by Longlife Exhausts.
The sound is just so awesome as I've had the car as standard since April and therefore was used to , what I now realise was , a quiet sound. This was never more apparent when I went down to a jap car rolling road day and came away quite embarrassed apart from the power graph of course, which I duly paraded around the group
. The car now sounds well and truly like a V8 should with a booming roar followed by a magnificent burble.
mmmmmmm audilicious.....
Longlife gave excellent service I might add, although they did end up keeping the car overnight(Not their fault). They were very apologetic and reimbursed me with a nice little christmas present for the inconvenience and delivered the car to my door of course.
Can't reccommend Longlife enough.
The car seems much more lively and I can't wait to get it back on the rolling road to see although I'm now considering getting a EFI live to get the best out the beast but I may be out of my depth.

Hmm, I hope you took a note of the odometer? I went to a branch of Longlife, and apart from the general attitude (which stank - they didn't get my business) I'm not sure I'd have let any of them even drive the car into the workshop, let alone home, doubtless "the long way round".......C8PPO said:

Well the branch I went to was fine as well as my odometer and the price was very very competitive.
Anyone know how much EFI Live is these days(Updateable version)?

The tune version also on ebay is £375 with the 2 licenses you require to change stuff.
You can find and play with tunes from www.holdencrazy.com but you are better to learn the basics and roll your own. Plenty of help here and on the various forums.

You can food shop at Marks and Spencer, or at Lidl!
Quality always demands a slight premium, all custards appear the same to the eye, but I would always pay more for Ambrosia! Different people put different value on things, peace of mind being one.

As with anything choice is a good thing. Im sure Paul wouldn't be running wortec if he didn't pick up a tune tool and figure it out himself all those years ago! No reason why anyone else cant do the same.. Plenty have.

Do I need to get V2 to be able to modify the LS2 ?
Depends how much time you put into it and how far off optimal it is now. If its the stock tune you should gain a fair few more ponies.
Plus it wont be just peak power that you notice, it will be sprightlier at all speeds and throttle opening's if you spend time to zero spark in.
Take a look at www.ls1tech.com under the PCM/Tuning section to get a handle on whats required. You can also download efilive's tuning software at www.efilive.com to see what stuff you can access.
Tuning isnt for everyone, but if you want the most out of your car it gets my vote.
