US Headers....will they fit?

Hi all,

Has anyone looked into sourcing headers from the States? Technically the Pontiac GTO is the same as the Monaro VXR, i'm just wondering if the headers would be handed to clear the steering column?

From a response from one US manufacturer i'm thinking the answer is currently no, as they are shaped to clear the steering column on one side.
