Right then blokes and birds.....I currently have a 6psi Maggie blower and the headers that are on there are the wrong ones (i reckon they're from the US as they foul the chassis and steering - deffo not standard as they're tubular stainless steel jobbies)

So, bearing in mind I'll probably be going the 10-12psi route at some point in time, what size/shape/manufacturer's headers should I go for???

di filipo or capa but you are probably fouling around near the steering pump. Mine were but luckily since some adjusting are not. Are you going long tube?

Best would be 1.7/8 4 into 1 with 3" cat back at that boost.

I think you mean the K bracket/steering shaft, the power steering pump is on the passenger side of the engine at the front underneath the power steering reservoir.

I was wondering about going to stubbies rather than long tubes so to bring the cats closer in and avoid the clearance problem (which is just avoided at the mo)

Also the cappas have a bit of surface rust eek not happy - in all I've almost replaced the entire exhaust system bit by bit since buying it. I've almost paid out for it twice over so ing pissed off

still at least efilive aint let me down yet!

1 3/4 is more than adequate. DiFillipo make some nice ones.

I put down a relatively easy 735rwhp on 1 3/4" headers in June last year, with a mild tune.. So I personally dont think they are a restriction.
Unless shooting for big power, there is little sense in going bigger IMO

Nice one boys....looks like 1 7/8 is maybe the way to go...what's the pro/con of stubbies v long tube then...

Pros is with the shorter ones your cats are whre they should be so no heater/slow response issues and also no clearance issues around the steering rack. I also believe there was a thread on ls1-tech where a tuner did indipendant tests with an s/c car and they long tubes show no advantage

Seen plenty of US dyno results and experienced race shops commenting that 1.7/8's almost always give more. Stock setup Id agree they are probably overkill and maybe even too large. But for supercharging Id say you would benefit from 1.7/8 if you are buying new, surely better to do it right first time?

As for the plunge, it will happen shortly. Im expecting to have one in Q2 08 wink

Thinking about another NA setup with trickflow as cast heads and suitable cam.. Should be over 400rwhp, comfortably beating most of the SC boys again smile

What torque at 1800 RPM would you expect from that set up?

Sounds like your sensor is getting too hot and is too close to the engine, try moving it further down the system. Where is it located at the moment?

Not as much as the SC for sure Duncan smile Probably 300ft/lb maybe a little more. Not the 400+ of a supercharger. But I can leave the line at 2500rpm or whatever if I want a hard launch. From a roll wont be as good either.
Ive not seen anyone other than Roger in his turbo beat my slack 13.2 @109mph on street tyres yet.

However I am tempted by a tvs1900/2300 or maybe the 122, but Id like to do things a little different than the crowd smile

its been moved way back and been fine for 6+ months. I have long tubes so its far enough away from the engine. The issue happend from cold, no engine running just recalibrated.

Yeah, a search on innovate suggests too hot as the cause. Does the heater circuit work properly? Also they say calibration doesnt need doing any more than 6 monthly. Did you wait until it had heated 100% before recallibrating it? I used to wait until the light was solid and a bit longer, then recal. Never had a problem.. until after 2 years and it started losing accuracy.

Well last night the thing did a recal on its own which can be caused by a few conditions, the only one relevant to me was the device getting confused.

I didnt wait for it to go solid, I'm sure hte device isnt failed so tonight I will wait for solid light the re-program. If it does it again I will do a full free air recal (I'm not starting the engine at any point).

I just dont want to be on my arse under the car in this weather :'( wink
