Power Steering "noise".

Does anyone else get a noise (it’s slight but it’s there) from the power steering on full lock when slow speed manoeuvring?

Have also noticed that the fluid is slightly below the full level so what brand/grade is best to top-up?

BTW motor’s only done 4.5k.

Mine does.
Always has done.
Many cars do the same - even our E class does it.

PAS pumps create a lot of pressure to assist you...on full lock, Ive heard it can be as high as 75 bar. Thats well over 1000psi !!

I guess it is only expected to hear a little complaint from the pump, lol.

I think you will find its a bypass valve releasing the excess pressure when on full lock. Its not good practice to hold it there for long by the way.
