Got this model for Christmas. 1/18 scale by auto Art. I thinks it is a 2003 model i.e. the year before UK importation started. The wheels and some interior detail is different.

Hello,

I have the exact same model, it is the V2 model so late 2002/2003 model. Mine even has the slightly wobbly passenger seat like mine used to have - LOL. Shame the nearest we will see to a VZ Monaro is the Pontiac GTO models.

Cheers
Steven

I'm a member of the club too - mine was taken apart and the bodywork sprayed the same breeze blue colour as my old Astra Coupe Turbo and Mk5 Astra Hatch, I got the model about 18 months before the car by friends who seemed to think my chances of owning the real thing wouldn't materialise wink

Great detailing. Here is another must have for the blinkered Monaro enthusiast. Had it made at a local neon sign shop. I briefly put it in my rear window but it proved too distracting, rattled and my slightly flaky electronics interfered with the radio. Apart from that it was fine...

only models they sell in the uk are those monaro's (minus the 427 Racers) and the VT commodore.for newer stuff your looking at canada or australia and then shipping them over.

I've been looking for a model of my VXR (or more likely the HSV GTO) but it doesn't seem to exist
Shame really, as I want it on my mantelpiece when I retire to remind me of probably the best car I will have owned, as I don't see air/water/electric/steam/pedal powered cars quite matching up rolleyes

it does wink

they were only released in australia though and arent cheap as they are hard to get a hold of and they only came out in red and silver with dark blue being "in devlopment" for the last 2/3 years.

you could also get the GTS versions in yellow and green.also if anyone is buying from australia it shouldnt cost anymore than 60aud to ship via airmail.

OK, so I didn't look that hard then, good find! Just as rare as the real thing then
Wrong colours for mine, but I guess nothing a bit of Airfix paint couldn't fix. I see what you mean about the price - that works out about £170+shipping!

if your wanting them abit cheaper theres always this place

http://www.gatewaymodels.com.au/prod1968.htm

although the guy that runs it does take time to reply to emails,i once waited 3 weeks for him to get back on a postage quote and in that time i managed to find the model somewhere else and it had arrived before he got back to me.biante models do fetch scary prices, for example my 1979 torana a9x was getting about 2000aud not long after peter brock's death.there is a model of a dark blue "birthday" monaro which has fetch over 5000aud! last year!
