W427
News from the Melbourne Motor Show today <www.drive.com.au> and <www.hsv.com.au>.
HSV today has unveiled a ‘road registrable’ seven litre Supercar program. The LS7 engine used in the HSV production car is hand built in GM’s new Performance Build Centre in Detroit. The LS7 engine was developed using Corvette C5R racing program data and the most powerful production small block V8 GM ever produced. To be known in the final development phase as the W427, this car bookends HSV's 20th anniversary and will be painted in the same colour as the original Walkinshaw VL Group A car - 'Panorama Silver'.
Engineering highlights include 9.2 litre dry sump, new springs, MRC/ESC calibrations, 20 inch 'machine faced' wheel, new six piston braking system for front wheels and Bi-modal exhaust system.
Design and styling highlights include all new front fascia, incorporating cold air intake design to improve intake into the massive 7 litre engine, three piece carbon fibre rear spoiler, red leather seats, steering wheel, gear shifter trim and centre console, unique exhaust tips and W427 branding. Wheels are a new unique 20” rim designed to fit over the massive 6 pot front callipers.

Hi
Yes, at least one will come here in a few months time. We need it to test the supsension on UK roads. I guess someone has to do it. There will be a few VE Maloos here as well.
