I believe that some owners have complained about Monaro brakes on previous occasions.I usually brake lightly and never get much heat in to the pads, however on my way home last night I thought I would de glaze the pads and apply a some pressure when slowing down ect.. nothing silly...I noticed that the steering wheel began to wobble under breaking, is this normal? the car has only got 11000 miles on the clock and no wear ridges on the discs. Is there a better replacement disc available? not counting AP six pots, will a warranty claim be accepted if they are faulty, hopefully with better quality parts

It's a known problem on these cars & mine were replaced under warranty for the same reason. The discs get "high spots" where the pads touch them if you brake from speed then leave your foot on the pedal after you've stopped. The only known cure is to replace them which Monkfish or RapidGB can do but it aint cheap & if the car's under warranty try and get it done that way.

I had exactly the same thing as you describe and had both discs and pads replaced under warranty around 15,000 miles. (Bellingers @ Wantage did mine - my supplying dealer). Absolutely no problems with getting it approved, and the brake wobble has gone.

Same on my vxr8 - at 2500 miles (which was worrying).

I'm not hard on the brakes but I found that the steering wheel would vibrate considerably when braking lightly from any speed over 50mph. The dealer tried skimming the discs but that just made them worse. In the end both front discs replaced under warranty and everything fine.

Discs don't warp, its uneven transfer of the pad material to the discs while there hot and motionless 9sat at a juntion with your foot on the brake), they even out over time. Must be a problem with the pads as its very common complaint and Ive had my discs replaced also. I complained to the dealer, vauxhall agreed to replace the discs, by the time the parts were sourced and I was booked in, the vibration had gone. I think that some said that there is a friction pad alternative?
