Nope. AFAIK GM don't have any diesels of their own for passenger cars. They do have them for trucks though.

Diesel is not mainstream for passenger cars in Aus, as it usually costs more than petrol, and you will often not find diesel pumps at suburban service stations. Here LPG is the mainstream alternative fuel for cars.

Yeah check out the specs on the Duramax diesel. 6.6L Turbo. Mega chunky over 400bhp and 700ftlb stock with a minor tune.
Some dudes in Norfolk are building a sports car with it. Does 50mpg and some stupid speeds. Not a small engine though. Its in the Silverado trucks.

The Captiva has a 4 cylinder diesel, and SAAB and Vauxhall/Opel use various diesel engines. I'm not sure if these are GM unique though, especially these days when everyone seems to share engines. I once had a look round a production line that made diesel inlet manifolds - the last station put on a Peugeot, Ford, Landrover or Jaguar badge depending on the end user.

Correct. Supposed to be a good engine as well.

In the company we have five cars fitted with this engine (2 Zaffira's 3 Vectra's) Performance is excellant but one has had two cats an injection pump, alternator (fuel from pump leaked all over it) and an egr valve in the first 12 months.
