Interesting. I wonder how much the new 6.2 LS3 costs as a crate replacement? I don't think the LS7 can be supercharged but the LS3 might be the ultimate upgrade for any Monaro owner?

Both can be supercharged mate.
Its just there is less space between bores on the ls7 for gasket sealing. The liners are thinner too, so max boost is limited.

Ls7 doesn't really lend itself to highish boost though. Stock c/r is to high so you'd have to play around with other things. Or do a rebuild, new pistons, balance etc.

Apparently there are 3 versions of LS3 available, including the the LS 376/520 which has a more agressive camshaft and special carbureted intake manifold. Output is 520 horsepower – 90bhp over the stock LS3. This might lend itself to FI more easily?

I think thats the "offroad" crate engine options.
