Hi All,
I have a quick question. Have any of your guys used a Vortech Supercharger on a Monaro LS1 or LS2 ?? Or know anyone who has. Are they any good?
I was think of getting one from CAPA in Oz instead of going for the Harrop option.
Thanks

I have a CAPA V2 SQ kit on my LS1 VTII. Seems good. Mark @ Rapid would be the best person to ask as he sells both I believe.

More efficient, but they are not fixed ratio, so as rpm increase boost increases like turbo.
Low down you wont have as much power as harrop, but up high, you will have more due to increased efficiency. Should use less fuel as well.
Depends on what power delivery profile you like. If you want near stock around town and mental when pushed its probably a good choice.
If you want mental around town and not as crazy when pushed, maybe the harrop/pwr/magnusson..

I have the vortech supercharger on my GTS HSV LS1 and its exactly as "Ringram" says. I like it because it keeps your car very driveable round town, but when you hit the loud pedal your away. It also produces alot of torque, i can put my car in 5th at 30mph and excelerate all the way to 160mph+ without changing gear. Like a turbo, but without the lag!cool
Does use less fuel too when normal driving.smile

I would recommend the Magnacharger for the reason above. Massive torque from 2000rpm makes it pull like a train & while you won't get the big numbers in terms of bhp, ~520bhp is plenty for the road IMHO.

A mate in NZ just bought the capa one with intercooler kit for under £3000. Mark is the person to talk to at RapidGB. Not sure on his pricing, but he has done loads of these.

maybe Mark could comment on here why he changed from doing the Vortech as standard to the Magnacharger? Is it a better product, was it cost, ease of supply?

Hi Robert,

The Vortech Blower kits are excellent and as you know I have fitted over 100+ kits with NO problems and excellent results, we also fit Magnacharger, Whipple, Roe Racing, Kenny Bell kits because each client has a specific requirement and budgets......therefore we offer choice.

The Vortech Kit Non-Intercooled is £ 3750.00 inc vat fitted and the Intercooled kit £ 6750.00 inc vat fitted....all mapped and dyno'd....Magnacharger kit Intercooled @ 9psi (Brand New) HH122 £5500.00 inc vat, fitting, remap and dyno report....

Cheers
Mark
