For those of us following the Camaro, you'll know the details - for those that don't, ignore the headlights, rear lights, lack-of-trim and spoiler etc... it's still a mule, but a pretty one!

There is another thread with a chap stood next to one - doesn't look any bigger than the Monaro/VXR8. It's based on a shortened Zeta platform.

You can't afford to run one anyway, at least not after tomorrow......Anything quicker than a fast skateboard will be out of the question.

Really prefer the Holden concept coupe, but this does look pretty good - and it's in the fastest colour too!

I'd heard rumours and even seen "quotes" about RHD Camaros, but certainly nothing gospel from GM themselves.

I wait with baited breath smile

Interesting quote. With the US dollar at its current level, in australia at least, they could sell a US$30k car for around AUS$50k. Nice profit there.....

I can absolutely guarantee you that if they sell the Camaro in Australia it will be priced closer to $100K than $50K.
Don't forget that the last HSV coupe (you know, the one you guys paid £27K for) was almost $80K PLUS on road costs here rolleyes

I think your pricing is a bit off. The CV8 in Oz was about A$65k (sold in UK for 29k), the GTO in Oz was about A$80k (sold in UK at 36k)Except the last few VXR's (GTO) were sold off at around 28 -29k. With exchange rates at the time of around $2.40 to the pound, then the retail prices were cheaper in Oz.

Oy this is my rant and I don't want it diluted by facts wink Anyway, you COULD buy the GTO cheap, they were never discounted here.
And I bet I'm right about Camaro pricing.

Sorry, I must remember 'Never let the facts get in the way of a good rant'. And yes, you are prob right about the 'yank tank's pricing, but who'd wanna buy one of them with so much better aussie metal available for less $

Oh and I forgot to add my usual bit about factoring the "average wge" which made the cars even cheaper in England in rel terms.

Have to give ya that one, as that is one of the reasons I deserted OZ and now live in UK and work behind the (very rusty) iron curtain.

Yup, but look what they did to turn a Monaro into a Pontiac GTO - it's hideous.

But the Camaro has already been designed. If this was the next Monaro getting a GTO make-over I would understand! tongue out

Will they rebrand it as Monaro for the Australian market? What will badge changers here use to rebrand it to? Vauxhall as no one wants a Daewoo?

No, and no.

Chevy are ditching the Daewoo stuff and bringing the yank stuff over in RHD - they're putting the Corvette back in to Chevy dealers and selling the Camaro side-by-side with it, as a Chevy. The Australians will get it as a Chevy too.

That's the first thing I thought! I used to have a silver one, I thought it was the Japs that copied everyone else but I guess the Yanks have run out of design ideas
