Spotted this in the classifieds and wondered what you'd all make of it http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/421777.htm

Supposedly the only one in the UK but presumably there's be some commonality of parts with other Holdens here. Obviously not as quick as a saloon but could be fettled, a bit of a gamble though?

Worth a punt or should I concentrate on something like this? http://www.monkfishperformance.co.uk/VXRmonaroblac...

Option B looks like a no brainer, and you can buy with confidence from those chap`s too.

One of those was for sale at a local second hand car place at the end of last year. I had a quick look but considered it over priced. Apparently was being sold on behalf of a customer. (Only one??)

This car was imported by us a few years ago for use in the UK by the HSV owner. The concept was a brave exploration by HSV into a different segment to see if the brand magic worked. The car sold all we wanted to produce but it was expensive due to the material cost of the FWD components. I will sing its praises as a great all rounder. On the dirt road from Mnt Buller to Craigs Hut in Victoria, coloured black on a road map which means 4wd only, I had no difficulty keeping up with Landcruisers and other specialist equipment over difficult terrain and went off piste to prove its ability. Not much call for that kind of motoring in UK.

Oops.
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I run a VXR8
The Avalanche seems ugly and a waste of money to me. I'd rather have a Monaro if I were in that market.

I spotted that for sale a week or two after I bought my Monaro last November. I have to say, I go the other way on it: I would have given it serious thought if I'd been shopping for a car when I saw it - it's certainly an interesting piece of kit.

Looks well interesting but with only 500 made, what happens if it gets crashed?
I saw the Monkfish one a few days ago. I thought it was very cheap for what it was. Overall, no contest really, I think you ought to go fishing - might catch a big fish! Lol
Good luck, and let us know what you decide.
