How much for a ex demo VXR8
Discussion
Some opinions from you guys please.
I'm keen on an ex-demo VXR8, so what would a dealer be letting one of these go for, do you think? Low mileage auto, registered June 07.
I'm thinking that with the new engine becoming available, high fuel costs, high road tax the car's value will be significantly depressed.
Any comments will be appreciated

Yeah they seem to be holding their own reasonably.
You can get an auto under £26k now. But the manuals still seem to be at the £30k mark.
The guys at quickars have a silver 07 for £25995 or so. The best priced by far of whats out there.
Have a look in the classifieds.

Hi Guys
I'm still pondering a VXR8 (I posted this much earlier this year www.hsv.org.uk/topic.asp?h=27&t=508001&r=7530452&hm=40944). Since then I've changed jobs and went on a little working 'holiday' in Europe, so other non-car stuff was occupying me then. I'm now back and have a much longer commute, it was ~6 miles and is now about 40 miles each day, so the cost of fuel is more significant to me.
I’ve followed the thread www.hsv.org.uk/topic.asp?t=470725&f=69&h=27 and was wondering if anyone has or is considering a VXR8 LPG conversion? I too probably fall closely in the category “I am tighter … etc”
I’ve also been keeping an eye on this http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/
Could someone remind me of the change to the exhaust please?
Thanks for your advice guys. If I don’t respond for a while its ‘cos I’m away for a hol soon.

Ahh..SteveMJ, so it's still on the cards then. There's a 2008 VXR8 in Aldershot for 27k, they offered me a
test drive when I booked in for some work on my 5.7........no way can I afford it, but really fancy a drive
in an auto.
Your 5.7?test drive when I booked in for some work on my 5.7........no way can I afford it, but really fancy a drive

That was a bit sneaky. What you got then?
Black VXR asked: "what's your dream car?" well when I trying to park in town it s probably a Smart or somthign I can fit in a tight spot, when in traffic jam some cheap auto with aircon and good sounds. Its never simple; different vehicles for different occasions, however like most on here I guess I can't have a huge range of cars and have to get a reasonable fit to my bank balance.

It's no secret, just not shouting about it.

I dunno - was looking at swapping the vxr8 just now a 57 (sept 07) silver 9k miles and the best trade in price on offer was 16k.
There are cars at 25k not selling.
Quickars have a basically brand new Evoke Manual for £26k they have had it for a while, it was the colour I originally wanted, but they were after £32k at the time. Its on pistonheads ads. If you are lucky you might be able to twist their arm further.
Or for £21k a 7,000 mile blue manual one on Autotrader..

Well that sets a ball park expectation for me! I expect a dealer to make a living but £9k or >50% (if selling for £25K) strikes me as generous.
What do you guys think?
