Just found this over LS!.com.au, sounds like the new Falcon F6 is going be a weapon...

Wonder how the general will respond to that?

Shoulder shrug Im guessing.
They will probably look at sales and make a decision then.
Based on recent performance they need not do anything.
However they could up the ante if required.

Better yet buy my old fairmont smilehttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

The just superceded one wasn't a bad item either. The 270kw, approx 350hp I am pretty sure was underquoted, more like 290/300kw (400hp) I reckon. I have driven a manual and an auto, the auto is the very good 6 speed ZF found on the back of other well known cars whose names escape me!
One of the autos I have been in is frightenly quick, one of the scariest cars I have been in, the power didn't seen to stop, it has around 320rwkw, converted into hp and flywheel for you would be around 500 to 550hp. It has run low 11 second passes at the track and driven home. However it can still go around corners!
The manual has a T56 too but it is a lot nicer to shift than the VX to VZ Commodores/Monaros. Can't compare it to the VE as I haven't driven one yet. If the ute had IRS I might be tempted but sadly it doesn't and is a carry over of the much older AU design.
Are the BF F6's good, they get the thumbs up from me!

Been doing a bit of research, the new lower powered XR6T does the quarter in 13.4 and 0-100Km/h in 5.1 with 2 up and the air con on, thats pretty impressive. The F6 should do a sub 5 0-60 going off those figures. Also Ford Aus are looking to try and export it, with it not being engineered for LHD, I guess its pretty obvious where its target market is going to be.
