Has anyone ever had any wheels replaced on a 6.0 VRX please? The reason I ask is that my local Vauxhall bodyshop have been trying to replace one of mine, and so far 2 Vauxhall supplied wheels have both been much too dark to match the existing set on the car, almost a smoked silver apparently.

I'm hoping to go along myself this afternoon to see if they still have one, and photograph the difference, but I was curious to know if anyone else had experienced the same thing.

Thankyou!

ROH (manufacturers of HSV alloys) weren't consistent with their shades. I think it was Roger at Monkfish who pointed that out to me when I casually remarked that I thought the wheels were a bit too dark on my car.

I've been parked up next to other VXR's since and my alloys always look darker such is the variation in batches. In fact, mine always look 'dirty' due to them having a greater amount of black in the mix. A comment made by the wheel repairer who did one of my wheels before Xmas.

Paul - black wheels would look really nice on your motor anyway!!! I'm still pondering having mine done...refurbed & done in gloss or matt black!

Paul - Had considered Black, but decided that might be overkill. I think I've got enough black with the lights and trim etc.

Gloss black will go well with yours.

Ok, thankyou for that. Think the only solution is going to be to get the whole lot refurbed and powder coated. It's not really on to be producing wheels with such different finishes.

I just painted these with a spray can, they were silver and came from a E46 M3.

I'm almost tempted to do that to mine - one has started flaking (one? okay.. maybe all of them) and I don't fancy trying to get a match. I've almost convinced myself I need new wheels...
