Yeah I did fancy waiting. Mainly from the reduced price on the LS2 stuff, but had loads of travel to do and another week in the slow fairmont would have sent me insane. So bit the bullet.
I intend to outperform the W427 naturally aspirated anyway
So LS3/LS2 wouldnt really matter.
LS3 has heads very similar to the LS7, in fact they were the pre LS7 prototypes from what I read. 2.16" intake valve compared to LS2 2" Plus the intake flows around 300cfm compared to 240cfm of the LS2.
Summary is that heads and intake flow around 20% more air than the LS2, which should equate to 20% more power potential in the heads. The block is also a larger bore. 4.060" compared to LS2 4".
LS3 has a much better top end. Latest and greatest instead of the old 1997 style LS1 heads that the LS2 runs.
