Sat Nav - TomTom 910
Discussion
Maybe a bit off topic but just picked up one of these today for 140 quid - factory refurb with years warranty. Decent sized screen, 20Gb hard drive and bluetooth for the phone so its got loads of possibilities. Anyone done anything clever with one of these units? Gather they can be made to play movies for example? Less interested in it as a sat nav - I have sit nav, she sits next to me and tells me where to go...lol, much more interested in using it as a hands free / media centre device so looking for ideas.

I have something similar in my car its called Sit-Nag, ......can't find a way to turn it off or even turn the volume down, maybe need to consider an upgrade.....
I had one for a while until some thieving scum nicked it. they are good. I know you can download video onto it so am sure there are ways to stream DVDs into it also... try the techie forums for them.
BTW it will have a very irritating "quirk" of completely freezing from time to time. This is well documented - You need to carry a paperclip around in the car as this is the right size to depress the reset switch (as i remember whilst holding the on/off button down) . I filled mine with MP3 tracks and hooked it up to one of the FM transmitter modules. A bit hissy at times and needs a retune every 50 miles or so, but easy to set up and portable.
