Well it had to happen sooner or later.
An otrcai from Russo has been fitted and maf sidelined.

Next on the list is the short throw shifter I have. Might need to be next weekend I think based on tomorrows weather.

Ive circled the bits that need attention for anyone who needs to gain access to the bonnet release or inside the general area for intercoolers etc.

The main thing when taking the bumper off is you need to get at the outside edge bolts from inside the front wheel wells. Just take the 2 or 3 clips off and force your hand and a 10mm socket in, swear a few times and then you can slide the bumper forward a little then down. Under the headlights is a clamp/clip arrangement which just needs a pull to overcome. Id take the 4 middle visible clips and bolts out first though, the ones around the bonnet catch.
Looks like mine has had a rough first owner as the skirt is scraped to hell and missing some screws and clips. Im pretty sure it was one of the first demo vehicles.

Dual 3" exhaust in transit hopefully soon...

Nice one Richard. As a matter of interest, how does the new compare to the old Ro? I know it has 4 doors and is more sophisticated but does the extra weight blunt performance? Also, given the choice over again, would you have kept the Ro and spent the difference on petrol?

Actually I had a 2000 VT2 HSV R8 Sedan last time toowink

I like the vxr8, bigger tyres, brakes, bluetooth etc.
Plus it saved me from an XJR Jag which I was very close to buying, but was too small.
I like loads of space, and take passengers on a reasonably frequent basis.

Ive always been a sedan person, aside from the camaro I had.

One car to rule them all. Plus the gen4 GM engines can be had in excess of 7L!

Mod number 2 smile

GMM RipShifter a bit of a nightmare to install. But Im an expert at removing VXR8 exhausts now smile
Thats the old shifter in my hand, thats the only bit you dont use with the GMM. I think the billet replace almost all of it.

MadMaxHSV, VE steering rack is right near the front of the engine, like under cylinder 1 so thats probably not an issue for the exhaust.
Also there is some fat cats sitting right where long tubes would go, so I suspect it will be an easier install..
We will see, hopefully soon.

More mods to follow.

Should make life a lot easier. biggrin Getting the old ones off is a doddle as they separate in two.
