Hi all, I recently had a milteck cat back system fitted to my 06 5.7, Do i need a remap as it seems to be drinking fuel a lot more than normal, its had the first stage remap from wortec prior to the exhust will this effect it ?

noisy exhaust = more loud pedal = more fuel used biggrin

yes
But Exhausts do alter back pressure etc so i would assume a remap is on order for every signifiacant upgrade.

At steady state is should use less fuel.
Backpressure is NEVER any good. Velocity is.

Have many people had remaps after fitting just a catback system? Just curious?

I had to remap mine after the cat-back went on because it was flowing more air and triggering the 'check engine' warning.

Well it might not have been airflow that was triggering check engine. Probably o2 sensors. Though there is sanity checks for airflow, but it would have to be pretty robust to trigger that.

Mine is Miltek cat back with no remap....No probs smile

Might be worth separating out LS2 engined Monaro as they probably behave differently.

yeah, I think it was the p017x fuel trim errors, but it was many moons ago
