LPG anyone????
Discussion
With the cost of fuel rising to such high levels Iv'e begun to consider converting my ro to LPG.
Has anyone on here done this yet??
Will it affect the value? up or down??
I converted my omega a few years back and it was ok. I got my money back over 18 months and kept the car another two years before a piston ring gave up. Traded it in as a non runner but it is still on the road having checked the tax situation so obviously some one fixed it.
Does anybody have any info on potential damage to engines caused by using LPG. I always wondered if this had been the cause of the failed piston ring.
I know it affects performance a little bit when on gas, but this returns when using petrol so if I decided to give it a blast somewhere I could just flick the switch.
I need some help here because this may be the only way I can get to keep the car.

Im also looking into this at the moment. Have found a site / contacted a company on the web have a look.
http://www.lpg-kits.com/
theres a kit on there "vogas 8 cylinder" with sequential injection. The basic kit is about £800 plus the price of a tank (they have loads of different sizes / variations etc)..
If you are a bit handy, you can fit most of it yourself, then take it to be setup / certified etc..
Very tempted indeed, with the price of fuell etc going as it is payback will be very short!

Yup, been running lpg since January this year in an 05 CV8. Runs good. 60 litre tank in place of spare wheel. Fills to around 48 litres which equates (based on how heavy my right foot is) to about 220 miles (which aint great, but it's a trade-off on how much driving I do, not reducing the already crap boot space and not having to get rid of the car...

80 litre tank and still have spare 65 usablemy ute is lpg running and there is a small loss in power but hey the fuel is half price i have a 90 litre tank and it costs about £37 to fill it i can get about 300ish miles dependant on how i drive so super cheap to run my big v8 no problems as yet just get it serviced once a year and i have done at least 25k with it
Countrywide Farmers have an LPG distribution network in the southwest. They have about 40 pumps available 24 hrs, 7 days spread across Wiltshire, Somerset,Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire and a few other counties. These are accessed via a key card. They maintain your monthly account and are cheaper than the big forecourt retailers. How much cheaper??? I'll dig up the last price comparison and post tomorrow.
