I do like those 04 VXR wheels, think the darker colour suits the black bodywork too. In case anyone else is interested here's mine too... maybe starting something here!

I prefer the 04 VXR wheels too
What's the colour and where did you get them done? Mine are all shagged so am going to get them all refurbished soon, and considering a colour change too. Tempted by full black but not sure how they'd look.

I(Mel) think the silver are more in your face. We had ours refurbed a couple of months ago because i scuffed 2 wheels in one daycry (I was told if i did it again then it would be within my interest not to come home) Col however thinks they would have looked better darker. Both are nice. Its personal choice

The colour is Anthracite powder-coat, done at S.E.M. in Sunderland.

Mine are in Porsche Anniversary Graphite, done by the Porsche/Ferrari Main Dealer in Cardiff (Dick Lovett). I know the wheel guy and he did mine for £40 per corner.

Bit too much of a trek from here in surrey... I had a quote from someone in Portsmouth, but they wanted 500 quid for doing the lot! Mind you that was for the shadow-chrome finish. Wonder what gold wheels would look like... anyone good with photoshop? silly

There is a wheel place in cannock staffs that do a shadow crome finish and they want £260. for all corners. Includes droppin rims in acid. Preppin um. powder coatin. then applyin some 13 coats. Then oven bakin. Thy would need the rims for three day. Theres a sample in there reception and it looks great. Not a bad price

hmm OK then, maybe not gold I get the feeling full-black would be too much on these wheels. I like the original finish on the wheels but it seems to be a bugger to match properly, given the previous touch-up efforts on mine.

I have had mine refurbished twice now. I used www.lepsons.com/ both times and have been very happy with the results.

£80-£90 a corner from memory which isn't cheap but a first class job.

They look great, apart from the centre caps. I have the same problem, gonna try spraying them.

why's everyone painting their wheels black, what's wrong with silver?

Original VXR is so much my favourite model too!

Well there was enough silver on my car already, and when I got the new wheels they needed a minor refurb anyway so I took the opportunity to get them painted at the same time. Going darker was a good contrast, and matched the tints I thought. And V6JDT, I think yours looks great too!
(and if you buy the HSV centre caps, they're already darker! )
