Having sold our Porsche Boxter S last year for the Ro(the kids were tired of walking) i was wondering why it costs SO much more to service the Porsche. (i'd expect a couple of hundred £ more tops) We just received a letter from Porsche imforming us that our Boxter S(that we sold 16 months ago) is due a service. They want £559 for the same level service that we've just paid Vauxhall £160. I also have to say that as much as we loved the Porsche the Ro's a lot more fun. Its also nice to know that we can leave the Ro somewhere for half an hour without having some censored key it. Why do the same people love the Ro that hated the Porsche?scratchchin

Porsche has a bad image with the general public, had a couple of boxsters myself and ultimately sold the second one because didnt dare leave it anywhere.

Didnt find the Porsche servicing to be too bad, however only had the first service done on the one car. Probably bear in mind the access to the engine in the boxster is not that easy and im guessing the parts might be slightly more. The big thing is the labour, vauxhall dealers wont be able to charge the old dear down the road who has a 1.0l corsa the labour rate porsche charge!

It's the price they charge for parts plus the hourly rate they charge for doing the work. Look at the difference between a Porsche oil filter and a Monaro oil filter.
