Just a quick note to say thanks to David at Greens (the new head honshow)as after a very short conversation I received a refund for the battery I had to buy for the Ro even though it was under warentee and no one else seemed to care!(thats putting it politely as well) I doubt this is down to Vauxhall more the professionalism that David seems to be trying to get others to exercise when it come to after sales care. Anyhow - Thankyou very much that man! thumbup

And there was me thinking Vauxhall Customer Service could be compared to either a Dodo (extinct) or the Loch Ness Monster (Some say they have seen it but no real proof).

Greens have been good to me in the past but I believe that had more to do with the staff there than Vauxhall.

On a recent visit to the dealer in Basingstoke, I asked the boy in the parts dept if there was such a thing as a tront number plate holder for a Monaro, his reply "dont you mean Movano?" frown

The vauxhall dealer I bought my car from was rubbish, however Pentagon Derby have been good to me and have prompty and efficiently addressed any prolems that my car has had, they have a technician who knows the cars and only he works on them. I had to wait a week once because he was on holiday.
As for Vauxhall themselves they had just given the go ahead for new discs and pads all round because the brakes juddered. I cannot really complain, credit where credit is due.

The dealer we took our Ro to for help with warped disks said that we would have to pay full price for them. They were also very unhelpfull with a couple of other queries.
We then took it to Slaters at Colwyn Bay and they did'nt hesitate in putting on new disks all aroud free of charge. They also have a specialised mechanic to work just on Monaro's. So really i think it depends on the dealer. If anyone ever finds one dealer unhelpfull, walk out and go to another

There was a thread on this subject a while back re the replacement of discs due to excessive vibration under braking. Owners with cars still under warranty that had suffered problems posted whether or not they had been charged for the work. A surprisingly high number had been forced to pay.

Also there didn't appear to be any pattern or reason for this. Maybe the exhorbitant cost for repairs charged to the owners by the dealers is a lot more than the reimbursement cost if Vauxhall were paying.

Slaters replaced mine at no cost to me. (thankfully)

Vauxhall pay the dealers the same amount as the customer.

Suspected you might show up in view of your former life Caspy. Doesn't answer the main question though.

I was under the impression, perhaps wrongly, that manufacturers paid their dealers a lower hourly labour rate than the amount charged to the retail customers.
