I have a few marks/chips on the front bumper already, even at only 14k miles. They stick out like a sore thumb, because they leave black marks where the silver paint has been removed.

Does anyone have any good tips for touching these plastic areas up? The rest of the car is perfect and it's a source of annoyance when I clean the car.

ps. I don't require advice on which colour Monaro I should have bought smile

where possible drive in reverse, this helps enormously hehe
Seriously though, why don't these cars have a decent undercoat? - most of my small chips have gone straight through to the metal so will need "chipsaway" or similar to sort pretty soon. My old astra had loads of chips but they only went as deep as the "body in white" undercoat

Clearly "bumps" should be "bumpers" in the thread title smash

Have a look at the detailing sites on here, some good products around although the main way to stop chips is to leave a bigger gap in front of you and only drive "fast" when nothing is in front of you.
Only problemn with the above is every w**ker will try jumping into the space you leave in front of you!!ranting

Get some paint from paints4u. Buy a small artist brush size 0 or 1. Touch them in and then wetstand flat with 3000-2500 grit. Then machine polish.

Doing my black VXR atm.

Ditto J.J. white under black, hugely annoying. Why not black under black, if they can put black under silver, grrr???

during building it would mean a hard time ensuring the paint has completely covered the primer layer and have inconsistent patches.

Holden touch up sticks are expensive but you can get them.
I have got a silver car (the slow colour apparently) and its has a few chips on the lower bumper but they don't show up as black, your must be pretty deep.
