Let me guess, your gonna say we should'nt be speading on public roads, that way we would'nt be pulled over. YES?
Almost.....
But if you are big enough to do the crime then you are big enough to do the time....

just because there are laws, doesnt mean they are justified.

please define crime ??

Crime = A criminal offence, i.e. breaking the law.
And just because you think it isn't justified doesn't mean you have the right to ignore it

Do they deserve punished ?? no, because a lot of them are nonsense.
yet the serious criminals, if they ever get caught, dont get punished at all.
Laws only "work" for ( or is it against ) the submissive idiots like us who are fool enough to try and abide by them, and in failing to do so, have our wallets raped.
If you dont care about the law....then it seems, the law doesnt care about them either, and leaves them to it.
Question: Does your Ro with AP's fitted (or good factory setup for those who are poor!) stop quicker than an old austin Allegro...? Take into account the same reaction time and road conditions... now if the Ro and the Alegover passed the same point, Ro doing 40mph and the Alegover doing 30.01mph then both had to emergency brake Im pretty sure the Ro will stop before and first! This is why people ignore the speed limits sometimes as I can stop so fast from 30 it hurts if I really stamp on the brake... also if some stupid person wants to run out in front of me - tough! your going to get hurt and as a result (if you still can walk) you will learn not to do it again. The nanny state we are getting into will mean we are pushing our cars soon.... just in case that illegal immigrant trips over and lays on the road waiting for free emergency aid! Rant over!

This topic (the sanctimonious bit) is getting exceedingly boring. It crops up about once an hour, every day, on just about every road vehicle forum which exists.
But as usual, it gives us all the opportunity to congratulate the sanctimonious one (step forward, Daz) for quite clearly having never exceeded a speed limit in their life. Well done, chap, although it strikes me that you may have purchased at least 5000 more cubic centimetres than you really need.

Still ridiculously sanctimonious though.
As an aside to my commnents above, I went out for a ride on my bike this evening. Lovely weather, just the opportunity for a trip to the coast.
But the ride was spoilt by the permanent (and increasing) paranoia around being caught by some or other form of hidden trap - not when you're doing your best Vale impression, but when your speed just wanders north of the posted limit by a relatively small amount. It took a big edge off my evening and has genuinely made me start to question the wisdom/sanity of owning any sort of high performance vehicle, because, let's face it, you're going to tap into the performance from time to time, and there are considerably more chances of being caught (usually anonymously) now than there ever used to be.

why is it if you fit into the category where you believe - speed but know you risk being caught, you are instantly wrong?
however in answer to the original question, i've not noticed an increase myself in unmarked cars, but there tend to be a lot of them round Manchester anyway.
Personally i think there should be more police on the road to catch the general bad driving yuo see day to day - i'm talking about the serial tailgators, the drivers who always slow down for the couple of hundred yards where there is a camera, then only to speed up in traffic. The undertakers, i'm not talking about the subtle ones who have the choice of following the outside lane missile for a hour or carefully undertake to proceed on the road, but the ones who carve up all the lanes like their making their way round a f1 circuit.
I dont 'believe' the cameras should go, i believe the cameras should supliment a responsible police presance picking up the other factors that make the roads a dangerous place.
I also believe if a lot more drivers drove like the other cars on the motorway 'might' be a undercover police car waiting to extract some cash from their wallets for their spectacular display of driving, the roads might be safer and better flowing
and whilst i'm on my rant i think the motorway cameras should be used to fine the people who cruise the middle and outer lanes for miles overtaking little or nothing - i mean is it so hard to return left when finished overtaking
rant over

A traffic offence is not a criminal offence. Although they make you feel it is, if it was a criminal offence along with other minor law making legislation covering every aspect of your/our life then it would make every person in the UK a criminal.
