I had to follow up Ringram's sustained loss of traction post with this one. There is also a law in New Zealand now which I got threatened with by the Highway Men (I mean Highway Patrol)

Use of Unnecessary Speed !!! Beleive it or not this allows the police to nick you even if you aren't speeding to cover fast acceleration !!! i.e take off from lights or picking up speed too quickly using an on ramp to the Motorway etc etc.

I spent 12 months in England in 2006 and after using my Ro there and more often my GSXR1000, you guys have got it good. The UK mainly relies on Speed Cameras (I used GPS to highlight them) whereas they mainly use radars in patrol and undercover cars here (heaps of them) using radar at the moment I have a top end radar detector but a law is being introduced to ban them. They have just ramped up the point and fines as well. Also it's easy to break a 100kph (62Mph) speed limit.

And now we have the most random "crimes" you can commit in or on a motor vehicle....
