I remember being on Poole key as a kid when an offshore Lambo power boat fired up on the key with all 3 engines. I could feel it and the sound was awesome!!!

I lived opposite the Antelope Hotel, just round the corner in the High Street beside Poole Quay & remember the boats, also at Southampton docks about 23 years ago the last time the race was run, check out the first 36 seconds of the video clip in the middle of this page

a freind told me there was some pics of the boats we were looking after here,,so ive come for a snoopcoffee

and nothing wrong with them fiat engines!!!! or fpt as they like to be called now

i was one of the mechanics driving round britan to support both italian boats.fpt blue did'nt even burn a drop of oil,just a wipe down with a rag and send it on again!!


.admit ably the red fpt retired due to transmission problems .but running into the submarine barrier at Portsmouth during the start of the race and ripping a rudder
of and cooking 2 engines...certainly didn't help mattersbanghead
