Had the response pack fitted by the holy water dwellers last week along with sport pac. Really pleased with both but on first real long distance motorway blast at "proper speeds" I have noticed that the straight ahead is a bit wooly on the wheel (bit too much play for my liking). The fishermen took another look yesterday and tweeked things slightly and to be fair commented that new tyres would help a lot. Just wondered what others had experienced?

I've driven cars with both the response pac and standard bushes. I've never experienced the problems that you mention in either case. Is it possible you're just used to quicker steering racks? Fitting a quick rack kit will sharpen things up at speed, unless you genuinely have a "dead zone" for some reason.

A little O/T, but if you want wooliness, try driving an old A-Class SWB Merc at rapid motorway speeds!

Previous drives have been jap rally types so fair comment, but just feel things have gone too far the other way.

I'm inclined first to think "tyres"!
Don't suppose you have Pirelli's?

No, Fulda. Not my choice, they came on the car when I bought it. Fishermen recommend Bridgestones.

I had the bridgestones (OEM) on a Clubsport R8. Also had P zero's fitted to the ute as OEM. The Pirellis are superior if you can afford to replace them more regularly. I replaced them with Dunlop SP Sportmax which are OK for general driving, but wouldn't trust them if seriously pushing it through the twisty bits.

Hi, To be honest I have had the RR pack for quite some time. It still amazes me the feedback through the steering wheel and if anything not at all whooly. I still have the factory fitted wheels on the front (may need replacing soon).

Monaro is very different steering wise to most cars I have owned even my previous Hyundai Coupe V6 had much sharper steering. Oh well hope to get the faster rack on after my hols.

Cheers
Steven
