How Many UTE's
Discussion
I'm in Leicestershire and own a 2005 VZ LS2 Maloo (Auto) in Quicksilver. I thought of doing a thread like this, but now its here, I hope every ute owner posts to let us know how exclusive (or not) we actually are. It would also help if any of us have any ideas for get togethers or activities.
I'm really interested in having a go at the pod, or at the Fighting torque event someone posted about. Having raced F1 stock cars for many years ( Big block chevs), I am a confirmed (V8) petrol head. Don't know if I have a problem, but I fell in love with the Holden/HSV utes as soon as I saw one down under and was determined to get hold of one eventually.
On a visit to NZ, I finally bought mine as a demo from the Wellington HSV dealer in December 2005 and am really pleased to have finally got it over here. To be honest I have been quite surprised at how many there seem to be in the UK, more than I thought! Never mind, great minds think alike and the more, the merrier. Cheers for now and hoping to meet as many of you as I can in the future.

I reckon there could be about 50 utes in the uk. Ish!
Im going to the pod on 25-27 july at the Mopar Nationals. All proper V8 stuff, no front wheel chav drive nonsense, and if you want to race not usually to much queue. Last year the track opened at 10 on sunday and i managed 8 or 9 runs by 11.30 ish.
If anyone else is coming let me know. Not sure i'll actually be in my ute though, we will see.

Wow. 50 out of 21.9 million makes us pretty exclusive then. BTW we are talking Holdens arn't we?Im going to the pod on 25-27 july at the Mopar Nationals. Hi i have a 2007 vz R8 Maloo in phantom black, its been fully Wortec'd to 635hp and is truly awesome,i used to have a 2001 vy R8 Maloo but sold to a friend in Ireland,i live in Derby in the midlands and would be up for a meet
Was you the guy that bought the Maloo from Tom Hartley? Beautiful motor mate. I want one to sit next to the Ro on the drive.
Any chance of you guys making it to Santa Pod on August 16th?
I know we've got one Maloo coming. It would be great to see a bunch of you joining the Ro's and VXR8s.
Hope no one minds, but I am keeping a list of ute owners in my mates list. Would be great to have pictures of them all as well. If I come up with ideas for an event etc, I can then get in touch with everyone.
If any of you guys know of anyone else who owns a holden or HSV ute and hasn't posted on this thread, please let me know their handles.
A ute register might be useful if any of us want to pool buying in of spares/accessories from down under as I have contacts in Oz and NZ who can source and send stuff. Cheers.
