Yep - been up a while now (a week or so).

I had a look a the concept at the ExCel show and put my name down for the brochure/test drive etc for when it comes here in 2010 (in RHD).

They told me (pinch of salt at the ready) that we'll only get the V8 model (the SS so far) and it'll be less than £30k (that bit I do not believe in any shape nor form).

My only gripe is the size - it's bigger than the Monaro and I'm thinking of selling that for it's size. frown

Still, time will tell! I love it otherwise!

The 4-pot tubby is on the table (for the US, not here) but it's not currently in live development - it's only to meet emissions standards!

"According to Doug Houlihan, GM’s chief engineer for global rear-drive vehicles. He said the V6 goes 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds, finishes the quarter mile in 14.5 and stops from 60 in 132 feet. The SS hits 60 in the 4.6-4.7 range, completes the quarter in 13.2 and stops from 60 mph in 117 feet."

I wonder how much of that performance data is gearing over HP? She's a BIG car (too big really) and hasn't exactly been on the lettuce.

Crunching the numbers it has virtually the same gearing as a 6.0 VXR, perhaps slightly taller due to the tyres. Also slightly heaver so this will negate the slightly larger engine and it is just going to go the same. None the less a worthy successor at the right price. I think £40K has been posted before.

Perhaps I can get my mother to buy me one as part of "inheritance planning"
