Hi all i have just picked up a late 2004 Black VXR monaro with only 5,000 miles there is a small amount of damage to front and one cill but nothing structural, when i saw it that was it, so now i am putting every thing into getting her A1 with a few Classy mods, I have read the threads on the exhaust but what is a cat back , what is the first and easyest tuning mods, i am about to order a Magnusun int cool s/charger from the states,$5800 this is for the LS1 GTO is it the same as LS1 VXR, i have the web site for the complete fitting instructions and every thing looks identical aprox 10-12 hors to fit, at that cost and DIY is it a good saving will it work?, i have tried to do some reserch but nothing beats first hand experiance and some have you guys have been down this road before so hopefully i wont fall on my arse or waste all my money( i see what they mean about the bug she looks bloody great even with the damage) are there any contacts for body pannels ect or is it all from main dealer, many thanks to any one who can help will post some pics when i get chance,

Welcome to the forum.
Body panels and bumpers are available, but at a premium over here I`m afraid so if you can get them in from Aus.
If you know your way round an LS1 engine and can tune for a supercharger then go for it,(although $5800 seems a little high by the time its all done and paid for in your garage ready to fit) otherwise don`t even go there, you can`t just bolt on the hardware like you could with the good old SBC lumps.
There are some wise owls here who are well worth listening to.
Cat back exhaust is a replacenent system downstream from the cat.
See you out there.

maggie is an easy install and can be done on the driveway if you get a dry day - it is a 2 man job though to lift the blower onto the engine to line it up properly. buying from US should mean you'll get a pre-programmed tuner ready to upload onto the ecu, after that its a fairly simple bolt on job. got one lying on my floor here ready to go but it came off a breaker so still short of a few hoses, belts that got damaged. Follow instructions closely, dont cut corners and it should go smoothly. Your local Vauxhall dealer should be able to supply the red coolant for the intercooler for around 2 quid a litre. I don't think the flash programmer they provide will yield best results as it's set up for the states. It might not even work with your car.
Best thing you can do is talk to Mark at RapidGB as he imports and fits them; he did mine with excellent results. He also gets a discount so you can pay to get it set up properly on his rolling road.

Hi There,
Ive just about finished my 2006 Monaro VXR (in Black too). In terms of parts / panels, i didnt have that much luck finding them. I got all of mine from the dealer, but they are quite pricey (i work for GM and even with my discount, the bare vxr front bumper was 900 quid!!!!!).
What parts do you need? Any pics? Where are you based? My guy who painted the car did a top job, if you are near warrington i would recommend him 100%.

Well Fans are you looking to sell the blower, many thanks to all who responded,

intention is to fit it to my own car mate so sorry not for sale unless someone made a really stupid offer for it. Keep an eye out at the breakers yards though at the rate people are crashing them there will be others appearing with chargers still attached.
Thanks any way, i have contacted rapid GB and will place order on monday for a full install S/C and map.
