One for Richard again. I've been offered something for my 05 ute, as you know LS2, 24x and E40. If I were to put a motor in with 58x and a matching E38 and harness, what are the implictions? Can I do a segment swap for the TCM? Might try this one with efilive forum as well?

Some late model LS2's with E40's had 58 reluctors I understand. You can tell from the colour of the crank pickup connection. Grey or black or similar, try a search on ls1.com.au I think. So you might be lucky. (Looks like black is 24 tooth)

No E38 has a trans segment as far as I know. They run seprate trans controllers either T42 or T43 etc. So Im pretty sure you will be better off pulling the crank out and fitting the 24 tooth wheel. Thats what most guys in Oz do.

Here is a tool for it http://www.goodson.com/store/template/product_deta...

And some reference info here http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Article/1096/Gen_I...

Hey Mate, wonderful info yet again. Thanks. Are you saying that that E40 has integral TCM and the E38 is seperate?

Ah, sorry no, Im pretty sure sure they are separate on E40 too. You probably have the T42 & E40 controllers. Your best bet is to ask on the efilive forum, or contact someone who messes with that type of thing often. Perhaps Daniel at Chipmaster in Oz etc. Or some yanks.

(I still think you will find it easier to change the crank trigger rather than all the electrics, harness, ECU operating systems etc)
