Apologies to freedom of speech etc., but before someone makes the comment, I asked for that thread to be deleted as I found some of the content offensive and not within the spirit of what this board is about.
My take is this, and not wishing to sound sanctimonious, but: We need to be mindful that written text lacks the intonation of our spoken language and so our meaning could be easily misinterpreted. That is why the smilies are so useful.
I think AM40RO's offer on his SC were made tongue in cheek and were misunderstood. This board is a fantastic source of information and fun, and that's what it's for. I don't like veiled threats being made and if we have more, I'm off this board, poste haste.
There's nothing wrong with an exchange of contrarian views, provide we take all take it in good heart, including a good amusing rant from time to time. We all have much in common on this board, and we need to be relatively light hearted in order to have fun. I get enough crap at work.
We also need to be big enough to apologise, so that's what I'm doing now in advance, in case I offend anyone.
