on saturday car is saying "check engine". Light stays on, on the dash and every time I start the car it says the same.
I presume I should call the dealer?

My car has Wortec SC.

Anyone had this before? I did see the traction control go a bit wobbly a few days ago even though I hadnt touched it.

Mike you will need to go to a dealer, he will interogate the ecu for you, and find the problem code and replace the suspect item, once rectified he can cancel the light.

yes I thought this was the case. Car seems to run fine.
Most likely an ECU issue?

Not the ecu - just the ecu keeping a record that it's detecting something operating outside normal parameters.
It really can be anything from a misfire to a dodgy sensor.

There are numerous causes that will throw an Engine Check light fault. The ECU will record what caused it. ECU fault is uncommon. If nothing much seems wrong it's more likely to be a sensor gone bad.

Indeed, probably, or at least most likely to be an O2 sensor fault.
