Bloody hell! What happened there? 15k? Isn't it considered a write off if the cost of repair reaches the vaule of the car? 15k is around about the going rate for an normally aspirated Ro at the moment isn't it? You could get a nice low mileage replacement for 15K.
write off is if the repairs are above a certain value if that car couldnt be repaired for sub 10k they would most prob write it off
looking at it i would let them write it off buy it back dirt cheap and get it repaired cant see 15k there new rear quarter, straighten, rear bumper and panel, driver shaft, wheels, front bumper maybe, maybe not not 15k there if you take it to the right place who quoted you that?

From what I gather, around 60% value of the vehicle is the cut-off for total loss. Haven't seen the quote yet as it will go straight to the insurers, but I'm guessing they've quoted a new shell..
Don't want to post details just yet, as it's still being looked at, suffice to say car had an argument with some serious Armco.. Tyres are new, so no probs there, just look odd in the photo's..
No injuries by the way, three of us in the car and only a few bumps to contend with, can't fault the beast for occupant protection..

Brilliant, that's what I love about a forum, always someone to make you smile in the face of adversity.. One of my best mates owns a tyre fitters, so I an appreciate the sentiment, Magic919!!
Spoke with the repairers this morning, actually just under £12K in total.. £6000 ish is parts alone, still too high for insurers to pay though :-(

It will have an LS1 and assuming he claims it will now belong to the insurance company/breaker.

I am indeed, car was pretty much spot on where I wanted it :-(
Depending on what transpires, I may consider trying to buy it back, as I've already had several people interested in the LS1, all sorts of kits available for TVR's, RX7's, even an MX5!! Problem would be where to store the car though, and I must admit it would bring a tear to the eye, breaking it all up
