To all beasty drivers on here
I was having a chat with someone today about the Monaro(as usual) and i was asked if i were to sell what would i buy. I told him that selling was not going to be on the cards for a long time, mainly because i dont like to think about it, and could'nt imagine our life without the monster on the drive.
We've had some really nice cars including the Merc that i use every day for work. Non of them have given me the same level of passion and love that i feel for the Monaro. I dont know why. Is it the throbbing V8? Its evil looks? The adrenalin rush i get every time i turn the key. The pointing and staring whether it be from a Porsche or Aston to a Corsa or Fiesta driver. Is it all of those things and more?
So i was wondering. If it were time to change, what would you change it for and why?

New Camaro maybe. Parked up next to a late model Mustang today and the Monaro looked better. The Mustang looked like it was trying too hard to impress...

Too noisey, and no passenger seat, £10-15k to covert.

I've told them at work I want the Brabus 112 for my co car, not for its power but for its engineering, I think they are around £30k+ too!

I've just put a new block in mine & it's past 120 brake so I'll make do for now.

I've only had my Monaro for 6 weeks now, so i'm still very much in the honeymoon stage! I'm into all sorts of cars really, but i've always leaned towards the V8 Muscle Car side of things especially since getting into drag racing in the mid 80's. In terms of value for money, i can't think of another car that i would consider owning at the moment although i have always fancied having a go at building a Cobra replica kit car, i know i'd enjoy that but unfortunately i don't have the facilities to do it.
I toyed with the idea of getting a modern Mustang before i got the Monaro, that was until i saw one in the flesh at a classic car show earlier in the year, it was parked next to a late 60's GT390 model like Steve McQueen drove in 'Bullit' and it looked like a very pale immitation i'm afraid!
So to be honest, i'm very happy with the car i've got......maybe keep it a couple of years then change it for a VXR8. Who knows. smile

I'll be keeping my SC'd '05 CV8 until this is released

Then I'll be stampeding the closest dealer that has 'em for sale

That's pretty sweet Wil - I'd go for one of those too.

We have a 451 Passion at the mo' and it's a great car.
Needs a remap to speed up the gearbox a bit and unleash the extra oomph available but it suprises many people at its ability to comfortably beatle along the motorway at 90.

Sorry those rear arches are just too Carlos Fandango for my liking.

Love the `ro` and MB`s family.

Love the Monaro but fancy a lightweight sports car like an elise as an addition rather than a replacement.

think I've just had a small accident in my trousers, someone send that piccy to Clarkson at Top Gear and tell him we want it asap, they show that on the show Vauxhall customer service will be hounded by the UK public until it hits the streets.

I'd trade in my ro for this stunner too! What a fantastic looking motor....would also maybe consider a Nissan GTR just for the technical madness....

Shame they aren't building it then. GM said no as the Camaro was already destined for the States, Aussie etc so 2 V8 Coupes weren't commercially viable. Shame cause when I first saw it it was like...... mmmm

I will be buying an XKR in about 10 years time when they get down to my price level! By that time they will run on North Ronaldsay sheep droppings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Ro and peat oil!
