Well, another fab day at Santa Pod.

Poor showing from the forum with just Myself, Soph Roger (S600) and Gareth (M8V8) running and Demon Hill popped in but unfortuntely didn`t get to say hello to him.

First runs were good for us FI guy`s but the strip was a little slippy to start.

Won`t bore you all with a blow by blow account of the day but suffice it to say fun was had by all and Sophie once again had to be restrained toward the end of the day.

Times........

Congrats are due to Roger with a stonking 12.4 bandit
I managed a 12.6
Sophie did a 14.5 and totally creamed an air cooled 911 Turbo which went down well with the crowd.
Gareth did a 13.7 (Think that`s right)

Like I said really great day.....

Sophs remap was a shock to us all, (Especially Roger on the way up, when all he could see after a spirited thrash in his rear mirror was a blue Astra and teeth) her car is now producing 270BHP and is so drivable with the LSD you can get it all down now.

Soph say`s hi Mel and was sad you wern`t there for a bit of `girl power`.

She was no where near as sad as i was. Just read your post. I'm gutted. I always feel so empty when i miss a meet. I know there will be loads of other times but i've petrol in my blood and i need a transfusion. We are SO held back by work right now. I'm glad you've had a great day. Glad the remap went well.and look forward to being there soon.

Got to say we had a great day and the weather was just awesome all day. As Jez said, shame there weren't more of us as there appears to be plenty of space to have a niche club meet. The BM's had an area with loads of cars and looked impressiev in numbers. We could do the same???

Any way although I didn't get anywhere near Jez or Rog, I did get the prize for smoking them up!!

Plus one of my tickets showed a reaction time of .186 sec's.

Nice one guys. S600VXR, please can you give me details/pictures of your wheels, which are running 275 tyres I believe? Do they fit under standard arches - I don't want to cut the bodywork? I need to do something as Mark collected my car yesterday to start my 383 engine rebuild. On standard rubber I'll go nowhere and I fancy bringing it to the pod when it's finished.

Nope - I had the lip rolled flat to get 10" rims on the back with 285 tires. I have suggested people just cut the lip off but looking at the clearence I have I dont think you could go 10" unless you cut right to the edge, only issue with rolling is the metals very thick and it will ripple the arch and you will have to get the body work re-done which is a PITA!. Rear wheels go an inch in and out to get the width and its very close everywhere but clears.

Mind you its still not enough rubber to launch hard! SC puts out so much torque it just breaks traction once off the line and you get wheel hop if your not carefull.

I would add that the piped Monaros sound Blo*dy awsome going away from the lights!! smokin

Best was a 12.61@ 116.6 with a 60ft of 2.43

Std tyres but running at 20psi.

Best 60ft was a 2.2 but the terminal speed was way down at 114

My 1st visit to a two lane black top:
VZ Ute, LS2, A4, Headers, but no tune yet so running a bit rich. I am currently about 100+ RWHP short of Jez and Roger.

All done on 40 psi rears. Some drag racer told me to let them down to 20psi and it all went to st. Traction off, and loads of spin off the line (like everyone else)
6 runs
Best Reaction .1896
Best 60' 2.24
Best 1/8 MPH 85.31
Best 1/8 ET 8.93
Best 1/4 ET 13.74

I really wanted to go yesterday, unfortunately had to do something else, hopefully next time.
Anyone there yesterday using or used in the past, the racelogic launch control? Did it improve your times?
