As we all know holden designate thier models with a v prefix (VS VT VY VZ VX ect). It's pretty clear that the 2005 Monaro is the VZ model as it has the brushed aluminium detailing in cabin, the nostril bonnet, and an upgrade in power over the prevoius year. My question is what is the designation for the 2004 CV8. Am I right in thinking that it's mainly VY with a few VZ bits (halogen lights for instance) thrown in for the UK market?
Why? 'Cos theres lots of lovely kit of sale on Ebay Motors.Au and I want to make sure I'm buying things that fit!

so what is a 2007 VXR then? a V?
Why do we do this every few weeks? No such thing. An 07 VXR8 sedan is a VE Commodore.
Last Monaros were 05. You need to look at the build date to see what it is.
Someone here had kept a brand new 1970s Falcon unused and unlicenced. By your reckoning if he licenced it today it would be an 08 Falcon... yeah right

I'm glad of one thing about this place over England, we don't have this ridiculous obsession with what year is on our number plates. We just get sequential numbers. I could take an old car in today and change the plate for the latest one. Doesn't mean a thing. When I bought the Monaro it had NSW rego, had to relicence it in Perth, had the choice of the latest plate but went for a regional one instead, KMxxxxx as I live in Kalamunda Shire.

I guess that we all refer to our cars by year of registration because its ILLEGAL to put a newer reggy on an older car so its a safe way of determining age usually.
Humour us, you have got the weather

no obsession not rolling eyes simply a car is registered at a date and that is that in the uk.
If i was in upsidedown land then i would be saying its a 2005 but as i live in England its registered as a 2007. We are a bit more civilised over here.

guarantees them plenty of sales everytime the rego changes. And more cleverly, selling old number plates to people who want to hide how old their motors are.I think it sucks.
